Sound Familiar?

You're great at running your business. The tech part shouldn't be holding you back.

Most small and medium businesses I work with don't need a bigger tech team. They need someone who's already done it — once or twice — to look at what's there and figure out what to do next.

i.
Your stack outgrew itself.
Spreadsheets, half-finished automations, and three tools nobody fully trusts. It worked when you were small. It's slowing you down now.
ii.
Cloud bills keep climbing.
You moved to AWS and the spend went up, not down. It is over-provisioning, idle resources, and architecture decisions made under pressure.
iii.
AI feels noisy and unclear.
Everyone's selling you something. You want practical automations that actually save time on the work your team does daily — not another demo.
What I Do

Three ways I help — chosen for where you actually are, not where a deck says you should be.

i.
Cloud architecture that scales without surprises

The infrastructure your business runs on, built for where you're headed. Right-sized environments, clean automation, and the kind of cost control that doesn't require a finance team to decode.

ii.
Artificial Intelligence & workflow automation

Connected workflows and intelligent automation, with AI applied where it makes the most impact. Built around the tools your team already uses, so operations move with less manual effort.

iii.
Senior technical leadership

A trusted technical voice that stays with the business through the decisions that shape it. The kind of thinking that only comes from having built, broken, and fixed things at this level before.

The work behind the numbers.

Three projects that capture the kind of problems I'm best at — different industries, same pattern: a business that had outgrown what was working, and needed someone to come in and redesign it without breaking what was running.

99%
Cloud Infrastructure
Deployment code consolidated and upgraded on a customer platform.
Fragmented deployment code consolidated into a single repository and put through a major software version upgrade across a production AWS environment, maintaining 99.8% availability throughout the entire cutover.

Workflow Automation
Tax return workflows automated for an offshore accounting firm.
Each return type built into its own multi-stage workflow, with automated routing, revision handling, and client reminders. An offshore and onshore team always knows exactly where each return stands and what needs to happen next.

Engineering Leadership
Technical clarity delivered on a newly acquired product.
With minimal documentation to work from, everything from system architecture and data protection to feature coverage was researched and documented in two months. Leadership gained architectural visibility to make real investment decisions.
Andrew has an incredible ability to listen carefully to our needs and then translate them into effective systems and processes that significantly improved our workflow.

Fifteen years, three industries, and a steady belief that the best tech decisions are the ones that survive the next two years.

A bit about me

Fifteen years building
what actually ships.

The work I keep getting called back for is the same: a company is growing fast, going through a transition, or both. I've been Director of Operations during a cash crunch, the sole architect designing startup workflows from scratch, and the technical lead brought in to stabilize infrastructure during a corporate acquisition.

Across NetApp, IQVIA, and Western Governors University, I've learned that the hardest technical problems are rarely purely technical. The right answer and the right answer for your situation are almost never the same thing.

How It Works

Three steps. No lock-in.

Most engagements start small and grow if it makes sense. You're never on the hook for more than what we've agreed to next.

i.
A free 30-min call
You tell me what's going on. I ask questions. By the end we'll know if I'm the right fit — and if I'm not, I'll point you toward someone who is.
ii.
A short discovery
A focused, fixed-fee assessment. I look at what's running, where it's hurting, and what's worth fixing first — written up plainly, with options and ballpark costs.
iii.
I do the work
Project, retainer, or fractional — whatever fits. Weekly check-ins, clear deliverables, and the kind of communication that doesn't leave you wondering what's happening.
